The apartment of this family of 4 was almost perfect: located in an eastern neighborhood in Amsterdam, their home only missed extra living space and a roof terrace.

Because of local regulations, extentions on top of the existing building should not be visible from the street. We deciced to make an extension on the back side of the building, turning a terrace into an extra bedroom. To compensate the loss of outdoor space, a roof terrace was added on top of the top floor.
